Chinese medicine is the oldest continually practiced medicine in the world. The techniques of acupuncture have been developed and refined for over three thousand years by Asia’s finest scholars and practitioners. Chinese medicine combines effectively with western medicine and is recognized by the World Health Organization and the National Institute for Health to treat a wide variety of conditions including:

▪ chronic and acute pain

▪ gastrointestinal ailments

▪ gynecology and women’s health

▪ pediatric issues

▪ auto immune diseases and allergies

▪ psycho-emotional conditions and addictions

The ancient Chinese recognized a vital energy behind all life forms and life processes. They called this energy “Qi” (pronounced chee.) This qi is our very life force and runs in orderly channels or meridians throughout the body, punctuated by “points” where the energy is easily accessed and adjusted. Disease is considered to arise due to an imbalance of energy in the channels.

The acupuncturist uses fine sterilized and disposable needles to manipulate the body’s qi according to the patient’s needs, restoring the flow and helping the body to use its own healing abilities in regaining internal harmony and balance. Many people report decreased pain, increased relaxation, improved sleep, enhanced mood, and other positive changes in just a few visits. With ongoing treatment individuals experience reduction or resolution of symptoms and greater overall stamina, health and vitality.

Full Circle Healing Arts acupuncturists have a wide variety of specialties such as Five Element Acupuncture, Facial Rejuvenation, Battlefield Acupuncture, addiction protocols, allergy protocols, pediatric protocols, electro-acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, Chinese herbal medicine and more to fulfill your particular needs.

Acupuncture for Addictions

Acupuncture is the most dramatic and effective treatment known for addictions. It reduces anxiety, cravings and withdrawal symptoms almost immediately and is effective for all substance addictions including alcohol, cigarettes, marijuana, prescription and nonprescription drugs.

Full Circle practitioners use the National Association of Detox Acupuncture, or “NADA” protocol, a simple yet effective technique that is used in clinics all over the world. The NADA method involves the insertion of five needles in the surface of the external ear left in for the duration of 45 minutes. It is overwhelmingly regarded as a pleasant, relaxing experience that allows the patient to relax more easily, think more clearly and no longer experience intense cravings for the drug. The treatment is repeated daily or every few days as needed according to the individual and severity of the addiction.

We encourage clients coming for addictions treatment to be involved in a twelve-step program or under the care of a therapist in order to provide a healthy support system and to address the deeper issues of substance abuse. All Full Circle acupuncturists are NADA trained and can assist you on your road to recovery.

Battlefield Acupuncture for pain

Battlefield Acupuncture is a simple yet dramatic technique used for the reduction or elimination of acute or chronic pain anywhere in the body. Its origins began with military physicians and aids to treat wounded servicemen. Battlefield Acupuncture uses small, semi-permanent needles in the skin of the ear and can be effective within minutes. Results vary with each patient but pain reduction averages 75% and can eliminate the need for traditional pain medications.

Treatment frequency begins with two times per week and spreads out to once a month or longer. Battlefield Acupuncture can be a stand-alone treatment or combined with traditional acupuncture on the advice of your practitioner.

Microcurrent electroacupuncture is a powerful and effective therapy for injuries and chronic conditions of the musculoskeletal system, including pain management and rehabilitation. We use the Acutron Mentor, a comprehensive microcurrent treatment system developed by Darren Starwynn, O.M.D. As an acupuncturist, Strarwynn designed the system to offer the “best of both worlds”, combining advanced electrotherapy techniques with traditional acu-point prescriptions. Microcurrents are gentle electrical currents harmonious to the body’s own bioelectric activity. The currents are frequently sub-sensational and most patients do not even feel them. The Acutron Mentor offers the patient a wide latitude in treatment options which can be integrated with more traditional Chinese techniques for pain and injury.
